The finals of the "E-Journey Together, Broadcasting to the World — I Speak for Jiaxing" Jiaxing International Anchor Competition recently concluded. After fierce preliminary and semifinal rounds, nine teams of international anchors emerged from 205 contestants to compete in the finals, where they showcased their talents through a combination of pre-recorded video presentations and live pitches.
The competition was guided by the Organization Department of the CPC Jiaxing Municipal Committee, the Publicity Department of the CPC Jiaxing Municipal Committee, and the Foreign Affairs Office of the Jiaxing Municipal People's Government. It was hosted by the CPC Jiaxing Internet Enterprises Committee, the Jiaxing Municipal Education Bureau, the Jiaxing Municipal Bureau of Commerce, the Jiaxing Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism, and the Administrative Committee of Jiaxing Economic and Technological Development Zone, and organized by the Jiaxing News Media Center and Zhejiang Chuhai Cloud Technology Co., Ltd.
Three ZJSU international students took part: Margushina Aleksandra (Sasha), Kulik Iana (Lin Yali), and Ishigenov Maksim (Mike). On stage, the international anchors demonstrated their skills across three tracks — cultural tourism, food, and enterprise promotion — bringing the charm of Jiaxing to life through the lens and their voices. With distinctive video productions and creative live pitches, they presented the city's unique appeal and rich cultural heritage to audiences in a multi-dimensional and vivid way, delivering a compelling showcase that transcended geographic and cultural boundaries.
After rigorous judging, Sasha won the first prize in the "Enterprise Promotion Officer" category, while Lin Yali and Mike received the title of "Cultural and Tourism Promotion Officer." The international students said they gained a great deal from the experience. Sasha noted that taking part in the competition gave her the chance to visit outstanding local enterprises in Jiaxing, broadened her horizons, and inspired new thinking about her own academic studies.
In recent years, ZJSU has continued to advance its international communication efforts and encourage international students to participate in global outreach events. Going forward, the university will keep building platforms that help more international students shine on the stage of opening-up and cultural exchange, sharing more compelling stories of China and Zhejiang with the world.
