On November 30, 2025, the 10th Hangzhou Global Entrepreneurs Conference and the First Global Import-Export Culture, Trade and Investment Going-Global Conference was grandly held at the Hangzhou International Expo Center. Representatives of ZJSU's Business Chinese majors and Chinese-language advanced study students attended the event—marking the ninth consecutive year since 2017 that the university has organized international students to take part in this global entrepreneur exchange gathering.

This year's conference focused on end-to-end services for enterprises going global, covering everything from macro strategy to hands-on operations through policy briefings, project announcements, roundtable forums, signing ceremonies, and roadshows. Heavyweight guests including Long Yongtu, China's chief negotiator for WTO accession, delivered keynote speeches, building a high-end platform for global entrepreneurs to exchange and cooperate. Throughout the event, international students listened attentively to the speakers, took careful notes, and proactively engaged participating entrepreneurs and industry experts, using fluent Business Chinese to discuss cross-cultural communication pain points and overseas market expansion strategies—emerging as a distinctive cross-cultural highlight of the venue.

As a core component of the "Advanced Business Chinese" course, this conference visit deeply integrated classroom theory with real-world business practice. Direct exchanges with Chinese entrepreneurs not only improved students' Business Chinese speaking skills, but also gave them a clear picture of the strategic needs of Chinese companies expanding overseas. The supervising instructor, Zhao Jun, who teaches the course, has long embraced the principle of "promoting learning through practice," bringing high-quality platforms such as the Hangzhou Global Entrepreneurs Conference into the practical teaching system so that immersive participation helps international students strengthen their Business Chinese skills and broaden their international business outlook.

Since first organizing students to attend the Hangzhou Global Entrepreneurs Forum in 2017, the Business Chinese major has built a stable "course–practice–employment" cultivation mechanism. Through practical components such as company visits, professional internships, and innovation and entrepreneurship competitions, it has developed an "industry-academia cooperation" model for cultivating international students, establishing partnerships with leading companies including NetEase and Gujia Home to provide rich practical resources. Nine years of consecutive participation have also allowed generations of international students to accumulate valuable business experience, laying a solid foundation for them to pursue Sino-foreign economic and trade cooperation after graduation.

The results of practice-based education are striking: graduates of ZJSU's Business Chinese major have become an important force supporting Chinese companies' overseas expansion. According to statistics, a number of graduates have joined overseas branches of well-known enterprises such as China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation, ZTE Corporation, CRRC Dalian, and Gujia Home, where they apply their expertise in cross-border trade, project management, and cross-cultural communication, building bridges between Chinese companies and local markets.

Looking ahead, the School will continue to deepen reforms in practical teaching, leveraging high-end platforms such as the Hangzhou Global Entrepreneurs Conference to offer international students more opportunities to connect with the going-global needs of Chinese enterprises, and to cultivate more interdisciplinary talent equipped with both business skills and cross-cultural competence—supporting the high-quality development of Chinese enterprises on the global economic and trade stage.
